Pick 8: Chicago Bears

Tremaine Edmunds – LB – Virginia

The Bears are another team that I can’t quite figure out their draft plans. They have needs at just about every position and getting an offensive lineman here would be smart to keep Mitch Trubisky upright.

When it comes down to it though linebacker is also a need and Edmunds is not too far off from Roquan Smith. In fact many believe that while Edmunds needs to improve and isn’t as polished as Smith, he has a higher ceiling.

The Bears have a long history of top interior linebackers and Edmunds can play that role for the Bears who need to improve on defense if they want to compete in the NFC North. Putting their young quarterback in a position to win with good field position is imperative.
