The 2018 NFL draft concludes today with day three featuring rounds four through seven. The Dolphins have four remaining picks.

With two selections in round four and one in round six and one in round seven, the Dolphins are hoping to continue a solid draft with players that can contribute from day one or perhaps a build for the future.

For the Dolphins, quarterback will continue to be a topic of discussion. Kyle Lauletta and Mike White are two prospects that the Dolphins have reported interest in as well as Luke Falk who also remains on the board but with the way the draft is shaping up there is still solid talent that could either compete to start or at least contribute heavily in year one.

Offensively the Dolphins seem to be set outside of the potential quarterback situation. They could add a wide-receiver but in reality the value might not be there for them and because of the defensive depth in this years draft, the fourth round should be all about that side of the ball.

At linebacker which Miami could still address with Jerome Baker taken in round three, Shaquem Griffin is on the board. For the inspirational story of his rise from the college ranks with only one hand, Griffin isn’t a player that many teams are willing to address early in the draft but the fourth round seems fitting.

A big surprise pick would be Michigan’s Mo Hurst. The defensive tackle was projected as high as round one before a heart condition was detected at the scouting combine. Hurst has dropped into the third day and could be a steal. It’s unclear what his heart condition is or how serious but depending on that severity, Hurst would be a steal in round four and fill a big need for depth on the defensive line.

Eddy Pineiro is a kicker that has drawn interest from the Dolphins and could be someone who the Dolphins target in round six if he makes it through round five. He has a big leg and is accurate from the 50 plus range. In addition teams have liked his ability to kick the ball out of the end zone. The Dolphins do not have a kicker on their current roster.

If the Dolphins want to add to the middle linebacker group then Josey Jewell of Iowa is a potential prospect with some good upside. He needs to develop a bit but has the raw talent that could be a solid addition and someone who could contribute immediately on special teams. The Dolphins despite drafting Baker still need depth on the worst unit of the roster. Even with the return of last years 2nd round pick Raekwon McMillan.

The Dolphins could also look at offensive lineman and the fourth round could be a spot to grab some talent. Tyrell Crosby from Oregon is the top rated guard but the Dolphins feel comfortable with their roster at this point and made some good off-season moves with the addition of Josh Sitton so this may not be an area they feel a need to draft.

At some point today the Dolphins will likely also add an edge rusher. Why? Because they like them and tend to hoard them. Josh Sweat of Florida State and De’Shawn Hand are two players that could go in the late fourth round.
