The Miami Dolphins will announce their first Walk of Fame class since 2014 on Tuesday. Who shouold hear their name?

Miami has a rich history and a deep pool of players to pull from. If you haven’t seen the Walk of Fame on the South side of Hard Rock Stadium, next time take a stroll over and see what you are missing.

A large, and by large I mean a LARGE statue of team founder Joe Robbie stands with blueprints and football in hand. The statue was actually found in a storage facility a few years ago and has been on display since along with Dan Marino and Don Shula at other locations around the stadium.

Below the Robbie statue are several statues of former players. To be honest, the statues more like Starting Lineup figures and maybe that was the look they were going for. Only a handful of players got that build, mainly the Hall of Fame players. The image below shows them under a canopy.

The figures are life-size and are often moved from out of the canopy and added around the Robbie statue but they are always in the Joe Robbie Plaza. The other names of the players that have been inducted into the Walk of Fame have their names etched into stone pavers with their hand-prints.

On Tuesday, a new crop of former players will enjoy their overdue appreciation.

Of course the question is who should be on that list of names when they are read on Tuesday? Miami has a Walk of Fame and Ring of Honor. The RoH is located inside the stadium around the bowl. It includes the Hall of Fame members and some of the elite players through Dolphins history that didn’t make the HoF but maybe should have.

It’s on the RoH that you find the names of Mark’s Clayton and Duper, Dick Anderson and Jake Scott, Bob Baumhower, and Bob Kuechenberg to name a short few.

Outside are the other players and outside of the HoF players on Nat Moore appears on both the RoH and the WoF. Perhaps in the future that will change when Sam Madison gets his long overdue RoH recognition.

Here are five players that are deserving of Walk of Fame honors that should hear their names on Tuesday.
