The Miami Dolphins made a move today ahead of the start of training camp. In fact they made two moves on their roster both at linebacker.

The team announced they have signed linebacker Frank Ginda for starters. Ginda will more than likely be a camp body without much shot at making the final 53 man roster. Ginda, a San Jose product entered the NFL Draft a year early.

With a year left of college eligibility, Ginda opted for the NFL. He went undrafted and signed with the Arizona Cardinals as an undrafted free agent. He was released in June after the Cardinals added some wide-receivers. He took to social media to express his thanks to Miami.

Ginda will take the roster spot of linebacker Mike McCray. McCray was put on the reserve/retired list. It seems that after five days of rookie training camp he may have seen enough.

McCray was a long shot to make the Dolphins roster but his “retirement” is a little surprising. The Dolphins have been very good of late identifying football players who love the game. That is not to say McCray does not but it is still odd.

The Dolphins have been holding early camp since last week for the rookies. Veterans will report tomorrow and then the fun begins with the first practice on Thursday.

Tickets to the Dolphins training camp practices are free but you do need to reserve your tickets. Below are the practice dates open to the public. There are 13 in all with start times at 8:30. The August 4th practice is an 11:00 start at Hard Rock Stadium where the team will hold an inter-squad scrimmage.

The first open practice will be on Thursday July 26th. The first five practices are open to the public on the 27th, 28th, 29th, and 30th. Open practices will return on Wednesday August, 1st, 2nd, and 3rd with the scrimmage on the 4th.

The final practices will be on August 6th, 7th,13th, and the last open practice will be on August 14th. A previous open practice was scheduled for the 12th of August but has since been changed to a non-public practice.
