Media peppers Cameron Wake about his diet, again
By Brian Miller
The media must not have a lot to talk to Cameron Wake about or they are just want to know if the man ever cheats on his lifestyle.
The key word to describe Cameron Wake’s diet is lifestyle. It’s not a diet like this fat guy writing this here is one, it’s his way of life. The opening to today’s post-practice presser with Wake immediately went to his eating habits.
For some reason I can picture Wake standing there, his eyes pinned on some reporter firing non-interested darts with nary a crack or hint of a smile. His deep voice ready to come out and say a lot of nothing. Is he amused or is this the part of his job he hates?
From what we know Wake is a quiet man who is also a private one but they really wanted to know about his food habits.
"(I know eating right and healthy is a big part of the way you prepare. This offseason, can you tell us if you had a cheat meal, if any? Pizza?) – “At this point, that stuff that you guys call cheat meals probably would make me sick. I don’t even think of it as a cheat meal. I just have changed my life and this is how I live. I didn’t bring it in here but my food is sitting outside right now and there’s a salad in there, some chicken breasts. What else do I have in there? Some zucchini. It’s just, at this point, it’s a lifestyle. I don’t even look for it anymore.” via MiamiDolphins.com"
The media wasn’t overly satisfied and followed it up with a question asking him what the worst thing he ate was, that item he would be ashamed to admit. He said he wasn’t ashamed and that he had some wildebeest and that he assumed “they’re probably fatty”.
Still not enough for the media, “Did you have a Snickers bar?” came next. “I’m not a chocolate guy”. I can almost hear how unamused he must have been. It’s not the first time that the media have been trying to figure out how someone can eat so perfetly healthy.
Over the last several years the media have been trying to dissect his eating habits. Afterall he is in great shape, better than some rookies, for a guy in his mid-30’s and he isn’t showing signs of aging. There has to be a miracle trick to it all. Wake maintains he still eats salads with no dressing and other healthy vegetables.
If it keeps him on the field we are all for it.
