Miami Dolphins unhappy with corner play turn to free agents

The Miami Dolphins are apparently not thrilled with how the players across from Xavien Howard are playing and are looking to add a corner back to the roster.
On Monday the Miami Dolphins hosted Bashaud Breeland but according to reports on Twitter Breeland’s health and asking price are too much of a concern for the Dolphins to offer a contract at this time. Earlier today we asked the question, “Why are the Dolphins looking to add Breeland?” now we may have an answer.
According to several on the social media platform, the Dolphins are not happy about the play of their three-man battle at corner back. Despite what we have heard throughout camp so far, the battle between Tony Lippett, Cordrea Tankersley, and Torry McTyer is not going how the Dolphins had hoped.
On Sunday the team moved Bobby McCain outside and Minkah Fitzpatrick into the slot corner role. At first it seemed like decent move to see how McCain would do but it is clear now that the Dolphins are looking for options since those on the outside are not making strides.
The local media has pointed out that the defensive coaches have been is a rather foul mood this week as things are not progressing. Players are being held accountable and the Dolphins may not be done with the changes.
Kelly also points out the news that the team is looking for corner help.
Throughout camp the Dolphins have been looking very strong in the secondary, or so we were led to believe so this is somewhat of a surprise. Perhaps the next steps simply are not being taken at this point. Could this be a ploy to light a fire out of one of them and make them step up?
It will be interesting to see if McCain starts on the outside this Friday against the Carolina Panthers. It will be an interesting observation to see how the trio of Lippett, Tankersley, and McTyer respond to the possible demotion.
