Will Adam Gase finally reveal his number two QB on the depth chart?
By Brian Miller
The Miami Dolphins head coach, Adam Gase, has been reluctant to declare publicly who his back-up quarterback actually is, will he today?
Shortly before Adam Gase takes his Miami Dolphins onto the field he will have to make a decision. Take three quarterbacks into the game or put two inactive. It is very likely that quarterback Luke Falk who was claimed off waivers last week will be inactive this week. There is no reason for him to take up one of the 46 active spots.
The questions come in when you start wondering if Gase will keep both Brock Osweiler and David Fales active for the game. One of them should in case something happens to Ryan Tannehill but should they both be active?
If Gase has to pick one it could be an indication on where his comfort level is at with the quarteracks and instead of a “or” between the players names on the depth chart. As of today both Osweiler and Fales are listed as the back-up. I have some news for Gase, if Tannehill goes down with even a jammed pinky finger on his non-throwing hand for one play, both of the QB’s can’t go into the game. Although if there was two QB play in Gase’s playbook, I wouldn’t be surprised to see him throw them both out there.
The fact Miami has two back-ups and not a single person knows which player is actually the back-up is quite comical. It’s funny because we as fans and even the media are wasting a lot of time talking about back-up quarterbacks. Of course should the Dolphins need them, it won’t be wasted..
It will be interesting though to see if Gase opts to carry two quarterbacks into today’s game. If he does, it might give us some idea of where he sees each quarterbacks value. The inactive list will be out one hour before kick-off so check back here.
