Miami Dolphins Josh Sitton shows up on injury report
By Sean Moon
Can the Miami Dolphins offensive line survive without guard Josh Sitton? In a surprising Injury report , Josh Sitton showed up with a shoulder injury and was not practicing on Wednesday.
This could be a debilitating injury for the Dolphins offensive line. Guard Josh Sitton was brought in during free agency to solidify the Miami Dolphins offensive line and he was an absolute wall against the Tennessee Titans. Ted Larson would be the replacement at the guard spot and last season did an admirable job for the eight games he played, but Ted Larson does not possess the same talent level as Josh Sitton.
"“Sitton got banged up in the game, we are still evaluating him and see where we are at.”“We’ll see. We’re still going through some tests and stuff. He just had kind of a weird hit. We’re going through that right now”, Adam Gase said after practice on Wednesday."
Being that Josh Sitton toughed out what ever injury he sustained on Sunday, he never showed it was bothering him throughout the game. He has developed great chemistry with fellow free agent acquisition center Daniel Kilgore and the rest of the offensive line and they look to finally be what Ryan Tannehill has been missing for a while now, a stable offensive line. The line played stellar last Sunday and kept Ryan Tannehill on his feet and helped to give him the confidence to keep his eyes downfield.
The last thing Adam Gase and Jeremiah Washburn wants is a revolving door at the line. They have been through this the last couple years and have now thought they had found a solid starting five and some stability. Josh Sitton possesses quick feet, great hips and excellent technique, especially in the zone blocking schemes. A shoulder injury could be a real problem for an offensive lineman who is dependent on moving some very heavy things out of his way.
The Miami Dolphin fan base will just have to hold their breath, keep their fingers crossed and hope that it’s not a serious injury, especially with the always, very physical Jets team up next.
