In depth recap of Miami Dolphins week two victory
When all is said and done a win is a win. And you take them all, especially when the Miami Dolphins go up against a division rival like the New York Jets.
This game had some trappings of a tennis match with so much back and forth. Just when one team got a break go their way something the same happened to the other team. Miami Dolphins twitter did a great job keeping up with the highlights and the NFL twitter had one also but it was for the Jets. Many thanks go out to them and corporate for allowing them both.
1st quarter:
The Miami Dolphins lost the coin toss and NY deferred which made me think if Miami’s defense was built to play with a lead wouldn’t they want to always get the ball on the coin toss with the hopes of scoring first? They seem to give up the toss at times.
Ryan Tannehill rolled out ran for a nice pick up on the first play but all the hurry up runs and a toss to Kenyan Drake failed to get first down. On the next drive he, Ryan Tannehill, had the ball dislodged from behind with the Dolphins recovering it. Overall he wasn’t looking his best and getting sacked a few times and running with wreckless abandon. He might have had jitters from losing Josh Sitton and making adjustments but also looked slow to get the ball out at times as well as poor ball management.
Both teams didn’t do much on offense early on.
Matt Haack had some good early punting keeping the Jets in poor field position on the first few drives with the defense also holding stout.
The Jets were driving with some help from an Andre Branch foul negating a would be sack. Then rookie Jets QB Sam Darnold threw it almost directly to T. J. McDonald after he adjusted to the WR route and returned it about 30 yards down to the 15.

After trying the Wildcat with Albert Wilson. Kenyan Drake on 3rd and one ran it in six yards out from a hole opened on the left side or the TD.
