Miami Dolphins one of seven teams currently undefeated in the NFL

The Miami Dolphins are 2-0 in this early 2018 NFL season and six other teams join them in the ranks of the undefeated. Do any have a chance to finish the same way?
Every year the media love to bash the 1972 Miami Dolphins and their champagne cork popping celebration when the last undefeated team finally loses. There have been scares along the way. The Patriots of course come to mind but the Giants made sure that Dolphins history remained unmatched.
With only two games played thus far it is way too early to say that any of the teams that are currently undefeated will make it a full season plus a Super Bowl without losing. What’s more important is just concentrating on the next game.
According to an article on NFL.com by Cynthia Frelund, 62.3 percent of teams that have started 2-0 since 1990 have made the post-season. Miami started 3-0 in 2013 only to finish 8-8. 64.3 percent of the teams that reached and won the Super Bowl started out 2-0. Last year the Patriots started 1-2 and made the game.
Do any of the current seven teams stand a chance to make history? Not likely. Here is a look at the other six teams and what lies ahead for them.
Kansas City Chiefs – The Chiefs may be the strongest candidate to make a push for perfection but it’s a long season and while the Chiefs are riding the arm of Patrick Mahomes their defense is giving up points that the offense has to match.
Jacksonville Jaguars – The Jaguars boast one of the best defensive units in all of football but how long will it be before quarterback Blake Bortles breaks down? That is a real question. He is playing game management football and it’s working but can he do it for an entire season?
Los Angeles Rams – The Rams have a strong defense and a strong offense with both sides loaded with talent but the Rams have played two hapless teams in the Oakland Raiders and Arizona Cardinals. They have the Packers and Chiefs on their schedule.

Cincinnati Bengals – No one thought the Bengals would be 2-0 right now and they have the Dolphins in three weeks which could slow down their momentum. They have beaten both the Colts and the Ravens but have the Panthers, Falcons, Chiefs, and two games against the Steelers to go.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers – Jameis Winston won’t likely get his job back when he comes off suspension. Not with the way Ryan Fitzpatrick is playing but can Fitzpatrick keep them clean all season? The Buc’s are playing very good football on both sides of the ball but this is not a team that has the potential to run the table.
Denver Broncos – Quarterback Case Keenum has not looked as good as he did with the Vikings last season and the team is still trying to find consistency despite their record. It will be a tough season ahead with the Chiefs on the schedule twice and the Los Angeles Chargers up tempo offense.
It’s obviously way too early to start thinking about who will or even who can run the table to perfection but for Dolphins fans it could be an early exit for all seven teams including the Dolphins themselves. The schedules for each team has potential trap games and tough games against opponents who have already lost.
For now we can just take comfort in knowing that Miami is one of them and maybe they can be one of those 62.3% who make the post-season.
