Quarter 2:

The Raiders faltered being backed up near the goal line from their own foul on the punt. William Hayes sacked the QB on third down but then was grabbing his right knee. He did walk off the field although gingerly.

The offense starts with more Gore runs but still nothing came of it. Third down gets replayed with offsetting fouls. Tannehill had just enough time to throw it deep to Kenny Stills for the TD. You have to imagine this would happen more often if Sitton had stayed healthy.

On what looked like a defensive hold Akeem Spence got called for after the play which would have been a Cameron Wake sack on third down. The Raiders got the ball back and kept running it with Lynch mostly. LB Chase Allen was also hurt and with Hayes already out it’s no wonder they went run heavy. But the goal line defense held them to a FG.

The offense started this drive with some play action and it worked with passing completed and the clock under three minutes in the half. A holding call on Daniel Kilgore wiped out a first down. Then one on Stills for pass interference. Both calls looked questionable and put them out of FG range with under one minute to play in the half.

It felt like play action would have been used more often but that is how past coaching would have done it. Not so with Gase. The run wasn’t working making it the right call just to try it once.

The Raiders didn’t try a would be 90 yard drive with no time outs. They let the clock run out.
