The Injury news for Miami Dolphins defensive end Andre Branch was better than it was for William Hayes but he will still miss time.

According to a report Miami Dolphins edge defender Andre Branch will miss anywhere from two to four weeks following a knee injury he sustained on Sunday. The loss of Branch will hurt considering Miami lost William Hayes for the entire 2018 season with a torn ACL.

Miami’s deep edge rushing depth is now suddenly a problem. With Branch and Hayes both out, the Dolphins will need to rely on Charles Harris. Harris has been an enigma and getting on the field has been a problem but he will now get plenty of time to prove that the Dolphins didn’t make a mistake when they drafted him.

Branch’s knee will likely keep him sidelined until close to mid-season and the Dolphins may, if things go well, keep him out until he is 100% with no question marks. Regardless the Dolphins will need to find defensive end help to back-up Cameron Wake and Robert Quinn.

The Dolphins are going to have to find some help from somewhere. Kendall Langford is a possibility given his time with the Dolphins through the pre-season. Cameron Malveaux is also a potential addition if he does not sign with the Colts, a team he reportedly is visiting with.

UPDATE: DoplhinsTalk.com has the latest information regarding the injuries to Andre Branch, William Hayes, and Reshad Jones on their new podcast!

The Dolphins find themselves with a depleted edge group. Only Quinn, Wake, and Harris are healthy heading into this weeks game against the Patriots in Foxboro. Considering how important it is to get consistent pressure on Tom Brady it stands to reason they Dolphins will be looking to get someone in the building quick.

According to Spotrac.com the top free agent defensive ends are not exactly players that are on the top of their game. Cliff Avril, Robert Ayers, and former Miami Dolphin A.J. Francis headline the group.
