The final injury report for the Dolphins match-up with the Patriots has been released and there will be a few sitting this one out. Miami has three players designated as out, another five listed as questionable. The Patriots report is more positive, with no players ruled out.

On defense, as expected DE Andre Branch (knee) will not play this Sunday, but although his counterpart DE Cameron Wake (knee) is listed as questionable, it’s encouraging that he’s practiced fully the last two days. To add depth, with Branch out, the Dolphins called up DE Jonathan Woodard from the practice squad. The other defensive player that was ruled out is OLB Chase Allen (foot). Miami signed LB Martrell Spaight to the team, to help out the linebacker squad. Defensive tackle Davon Jones (ankle) and FS Reshad Jones (shoulder) were both listed as questionable, but on the upside they have both been full participants in practice.

Tight end A. J. Derby (foot) hasn’t practiced all week and is the lone offensive player ruled out. Offensive Coordinator Dowell Loggains says he has confidence in his remaining TE’s to step in and play well in Derby’s absence. The only player that was limited in practice was WR DeVante Parker, who was added to the report, with a quadricep injury and is questionable. Wide receiver Danny Amendola and Frank Gore (not injury related) were back at practice after taking their weekly day off. The last two on the report were QB Ryan Tannehill and OT Sam Young, each with a shoulder injury. Both were full participants in practice, Tannehill had no designation and Young was listed as questionable. Finally, on special teams, LS John Denney (shoulder) fully practiced all week and had no designation.

New England’s injury report released Friday looked quite a bit more promising. Linebacker Brandon King (foot) was added to the list, totaling eleven.  All players were limited in practice and everyone of them was designated as questionable. The defensive players listed were S Patrick Chung (concussion), DB’s Keion Crossen (hamstring) and Nate Ebner (hip), defensive linemen Geneo Grissom (ankle) and Trey Flowers (concussion), LB Brandon King (foot) and CB Eric Rowe (groin). On offense, the players on the report were tight ends Rob Gronkowsky (ankle) and Jacob Hollister (chest), WR Josh Gordon (hamstring) and T Marcus Cannon (calf).

This will be a true test of this teams depth. It looks like the theme for the Miami Dolphins this week in Gillette Stadium will be “Next man up”.
