On Sunday the Miami Dolphins lost their biggest game of the 2018 season and it for three quarters the game wasn’t close.

It was hard enough to watch the game on Sunday let alone recap for those who could not but nonetheless here is the quarter by quarter meltdown of the Miami Dolphins visit to Foxboro.

Quarter 1:

Dolphins lost the coin toss the Pats deferred and start the game on offense. A pass of 22 yards went to Kenny Stills but a holding call on Daniel Kilgore helped to destruct the first drive.

A holding call on Xavien Howard kept the Pats drive alive on what would have been a third down stop. The replay showed it as a slight push to the back of the WR. Kiko Alonso saved a would be TD and the goal line defense held the Pats to a FG.

The Pats drew a holding call on Danny Amendola which kept the Dolphins second drive alive but they ended up punting. On the second Pats drive Bobby McCain ended it with an interception.

The good: Bobby McCain interception.
The bad: Refs: bad call already on just the first drive of the Pats. The Dolphins running game still not getting in gear.

Quarter 2:

A call on Xavien Howard kept the Pats drive alive on what would have been a third down stop again, this time it was illegal contact beyond ten yards with hand checks. Pats set a pick at mid field that wasn’t called resulting in a 54 yard TD to the WR.

The Pats DB’s have held the Dolphins WR’s a lot and got called for it again which also kept the drive alive again, but the drive ended the same way, punting.

The Pats started running but had three fouls on one play holding twice and tripping which was accepted. Minkah Fitzpatrick had a nice stop on a short pass as the defense stopped the Pats.

With Daniel Kilgore out and the new center Travis Swanson in, the Dolphins had a bad snap exchange turning the ball over near the red zone. The Pats got a rushing TD on the next play.

Dolphins 0 Pats 17

The Pats drove the field with short passing as time was ending in the first half and tacked on one more TD.

Dolphins 0 Pats 24

The good: Nothing.
The bad: Refs: bad call on an obvious pick play that resulted in a Pats TD off a 54 yard pass to WR. Matt Haack has punted twice but not more than 30 yards. Bad snap exchange with the back up center.
