The Miami Dolphins released their inactive list ahead of today’s Bears game and it’s a who’s who of starters including quarterback Ryan Tannehill.

While the Miami Dolphins headline their inactive list with Ryan Tannehill who will sit with a shoulder injury paving the way for Brock Osweiler to win over critics, insert your own snicker here, it’s the rest of the group that is surprising.

Cameron Wake: Wake reportedly had minor surgery on his knee, likely to clean it out. The Dolphins believe he could be ready for next weeks game against the Detroit Lions but that will be a long shot. Wake missed last weeks game against the Bengals. He will now miss his 2nd game as well.

Kalen Ballage: Ballage saw some action last week but it is not a surprise to see him inactive again.

Bobby McCain: McCain tried to get back on the field today going so far as to running this morning during pre-game sessions but his knee isn’t quite ready and he will miss another game this week but it appears that next week should be a go.

Martrell Spaight: Spaight should have just been kicked off the team last week as his unsportsmanlike conduct penalty was a big part of the Dolphins late game collapse against the Bengals. Maybe his sitting today is a message from the coaching staff.

A.J. Derby: The Dolphins are not getting much luck with their tight-ends and frankly they have all been rather dissappointing this year. The only bright spot was Derby. Mike Gesicki will start in his place today.

Charles Harris: The biggest surprise of the inactives is Charles Harris. Harris really needs to be on the field especially with Wake out. He is missing valuable time not being on the field. His injury isn’t expected to be serious but the fact he isn’t on the field today explains why the Dolphins released Sam Young and brought up Jamiyus Pittman.

Non-Inactive news:

Andre Branch: Branch is active today and that is a good considering the depth issues at the end position. It’s time for him to step up though. He has not played up to the big contract he received ahead of the 2017 season.

DeVante Parker: Active? Believe it or not yes but can he finish a game and stay off the list? That remains to be seen!
