The Miami Dolphins keep finding ways to win, in a race to keep pace with AFC division leaders.

With six weeks in the books, the Miami Dolphins have the same record as four other AFC teams. The Baltimore Ravens, the Los Angeles Chargers, the Cincinnati Bengals, and the New England Patriots, with the Bengals and Patriots holding tie-breakers over the Dolphins.

So much has happened this season in regards to the ever-changing roster, that to have a 4-2 record is a pretty good achievement if not a miracle in its self. How long will the band aids hold up? There is still 10 games left to play, and the Detroit Lions are next to line up against this scrappy Dolphins team.

The Dolphins defense has been the constant positive through all 6 games, even though the defense has not been perfect, it has learned to bend but not break. While Kiko Alonso and Reshad Jones have played very important roles on defense, other than DE Robert Quinn there has not been any sort of pass rush. DE Cameron Wake and DE Charles Harris were both out of the Bears game, and their return to action could be two to three weeks away.

The Dolphins are missing other players to injury including starting CB Bobby McCain.  McCain’s return is still likely three weeks out. These are key players and the Miami Dolphins are still finding ways to make it work on defense. I would expect to see the Miami defense start playing like a better rounded team in their return to action next week.

You cannot over look this 4-2 achievement, with having so many players out due to injury, and some lost for the season. This team could blow up at any given moment, not in a good way, or each new plug and play player can stand up and make a difference, just as newly signed TE Nick O’Leary did this past Sunday against the Bears tough defense.

O’Leary made his season debut in the Bears game with 4 receptions for 49 yards and one touchdown. This is just the type of plug and play the Miami Dolphins need to keep going, to keep pace with all the injuries, and still compete with the leaders of the AFC. Everyone who plays contributes to the game, with one focus, winning.
