Staff optimistic on Miami Dolphins week 8 predictions for the Texans
The Miami Dolphins will visit the Texans in Houston this Thursday and the PhinPhatic staff gives your our final score predictions.
This week we asked the staff of PhinPhanatic to give us their Miami Dolphins predictions heading into Thursday. The Dolphins look to stop the bleeding from last week’s loss to the Lions and build momentum into their semi-long week.
George Keim predictions
Everything points to a Dolphins loss in this one. Injuries, short week, road game. Conventional thinking says pick the Texans so, that’s what I’m going to do. Dolphins are in shambles right now and will need a Herculean effort to win this one. Texans are coming off a big win and will continue to roll.

Brian Murray predictions
Everyone is declaring gloom and doom, with Kenny Stills and Albert Wilson out. The trio of DeVante Parker, Danny Amendola and Jakeem Grant are still a formidable receiving squad. Brock Osweiler may have played for Houston, but this is a different system and he’ll be playing with a chip on his shoulder. The defense will right the ship this week and put the pressure on Watson, who’s been sacked a league high 26 times this season.

Gabe Genovesi predictions
Thursday night on the road is a recipe for disaster for anyone in the league, but especially the Dolphins. Especially losing Wilson and Stills, Miami’s two best receivers. The defense will keep Miami in the game for a while but the offense will struggle to move the ball and put points on the board.

James Anderson predictions
The Texans have won the last three games scoring 20 or fewer points. Provided the offensive line and the defense shows up this time it could be a close lower scoring game. With Kenny Stills out there should be shorter passes which should be the game plan regardless. Albert Wilson is also out so enter Jakeem Grant. I can see Kenyan Drake being used more like he was near the end of the last game with passing and Mike Gesicki also getting in more play.

Travis Richardson predictions
Miami comes into this short week with more questions than options. Offensively, many of the pass catchers are MIA and Miami decided to go with in house options that have great size and potential. Devante Parker and Leonte Carroo will get significant playing time and they have massive size. Watch for Gase to start designing plays for them to get into position and not as much horizontal passing that allowed speed to play a roll. Defensively Miami had one of the worst tackling and physicality games of the year. Texans demand mental precision as Desaun Watson and Deandre Hopkins have elite speed. With Miami reeling and the Texans on fire and at home, I don’t feel great on this game.

The Miami Dolphins are in a tough spot as mentioned above but tonight, I feel more optimism as this team is different and they seem to be bonding together. After last week I expect them to come out fighting and giving the Texans more than they expect.
