The Miami Dolphins injuries this year are mounting and frankly they are getting a bit ridiculous. Now we learn that they have lost Vincent Taylor for the season.

Vincent Taylor has not played “great” this year but he has been a very good player on a defensive line that needs “very good players”. Taylor is emerging as one of the Dolphins top young defensive tackles along with Davon Godchaux but now, he will miss the rest of the year with a foot injury.

The Dolphins put Taylor on season ending IR earlier today and ended his season while doing so creating yet another hole to fill at yet another position. The Dolphins are already without Charles Harris and lost William Hayes for the season earlier this year.

The defensive line has also spent part of the season without Cameron Wake and Andre Branch. Both returned to the lineup last week against the Texans.

Earlier this week the Dolphins released Jamiyus Pittman a defensive lineman who was called up from the practice squad. He will likely head back to the practice squad after he clears waivers. With Tayor now going to the IR Miami addressed the need by signing Ziggy Hood.

Hood is a ten-year veteran who has just over 70 games as a starter. He will now join the Dolphins rotation of defensive tackles but he is also capable of playing defensive end as well. The Dolphins are one of the worst teams in the NFL against the run so Hood is going to have a tough task ahead of him. He was released earlier this year by the Redskins.

Today the Dolphins added a former Denver first round pick Sylvester Williams. Drafted in 2013, Williams played his first four seasons with the Broncos and then one with the Titans before joining the Lions this past off-season. He is not intended to be a starter but adds depth to the unit.

Miami has also activated linebacker Mike Hull from the short-term IR.
