The Miami Dolphins head coach, Adam Gase took issue with a question from local media members as he defended quarterback Ryan Tannehill.

On Thursday Adam Gase met with members of the media following practice and a brief exchange of questions got Gase a little riled up to the point he defended Tannehill which now has social media laughing about his future and potential.

The issue started when Joe Schad of the Palm Beach Post asked a question related to Tannehill. Then Miami Herald columnist Armando Salguero jumped in and Adam Gase took a bit of issue with the continued questions about his injured quarterback. A video of the exchange belonging to the Miami Herald was published on Youtube.

“You don’t know what you are talking about” Gase says in the video and continues to tell Salguero that he doesn’t know what he is talking about. At one point Salguero interjects that he “knows what results are” to which Gase has a reply for that as well. The video is above but if it is not able to be played, you can click here.

On social media and forum platforms many fans are finding Gase’s comments laughable. At one point saying that Tannehill is far from his ceiling. Gase is going to defend Tannehill as long as he is in Miami. Gase believes that he can take this team to the next level despite the fact that his actual tape is only 18 games in three seasons.

The Dolphins are not playing good fundamental football on either side of the ball but especially on defense. Gase has no choice to use Brock Osweiler until Tannehill can regain strength in his shoulder. If Gase is correct in saying he does not know the extent or degree of Tannehill’s injury that only adds to his frustration. The whole speculation on Tannehill beyond this season is also in question.

Then there is Salguero who clearly got the soundbite that he wanted by pushing the issue of Tannehill’s development. It was a fair question and the media are getting frustrated as well after decades of covering mediocrity.

In fairness to Gase regarding Tannehill, he was playing well in the first three games despite the poor starts in all three. His game against the Patriots was horrible but he had the team in position to win before Laremy Tunsil was injured against the Bengals. That however is on Gase for not changing his offense to meet the injury issues. Perhaps that is one of the two bad decisions he was referring to and not the two turnovers.

What we do know from all of this is that the Dolphins are spinning their wheels in the mud right now and vultures are circling overhead. It will only get worse on both sides if the Dolphins continue to play poorly and lose and as long as Ryan Tannehill is on the sideline watching the games, he isn’t going to get any free passes either.
