The Friday injury report was released for the Dolphins vs Jets game. Ryan Tannehill will miss his fourth game and CB Cordrea Tankersley goes on the IR.

The injury saga for the Miami Dolphins continues yet another week. The already struggling defense lost another player to the ever growing IR and the offense will again start their backup quarterback, throwing to a depleted receiving squad.

Cordrea Tankersley tore his ACL in practice Thursday, after he reportedly “took a weird step” as Adam Gase put it. Tankersley has been placed on injured reserve and is out for the season. Listed as questionable, CB Xavien Howard (ankle) practiced fully for the first time this week. Adam Gase said they would “talk about what to do next” after Sunday’s game to address the secondary depth.

For the fourth game in a row QB Brock Osweiler will start in place of Ryan Tannehill. Miami has released that Ryan has a capsule injury in his throwing shoulder. Time and rest is currently the plan and surgery has not been mentioned. I’d be surprised to see him play before the bye week, with only one game left after Sunday.

How many targets Osweiler has to throw to Sunday is still in question. Wide receiver Kenny Stills (groin) and tight end A. J. Derby (foot) were both listed as questionable. Derby sounds more promising for Sunday, being a full participant in practice all week. Stills practiced for the first time Friday on a limited basis. Could be another large dose of DeVante Parker Sunday.

All of the other players on the long injury report list were full participants in practice and had no designations for Sunday’s game.

The New York Jets had three of their wide receivers on their final injury report. Quincy Enunwa, Robby Anderson and Andre Roberts were all listed as questionable. Their tight end Neil Sterling is out with a concussion.

On the Jet’s defense, CB Trumaine Johnson and LB Kevin Pierre-Louis are both doubtful and defensive lineman Steve McLendon is listed as questionable.

It’s been an injury plagued season for the Dolphins and as Gase expressed, there isn’t much room in the depth chart for many more. Let’s keep our fingers crossed.
