The Miami Dolphins are not getting any breaks this year at all and now another player has hit the injured reserve list as Cordrea Tankersley tore his ACL.

A short while ago Miami Dolphins head coach Adam Gase informed the media that CB Cordrea Tankersley has torn his ACL and will be placed on injured reserve. Tankersley has not played well in 2018 and the injury could be significant blow to his career both short term and long.

Tankersley was taken in the 2017 draft in the third round and the Miami Dolphins believed that he would be the perfect complement to Xavien Howard but Tankersley’s development has been very slow and this year he has spent most of his time on the sidelines and special teams.

The ACL tear is yet another injury for the Dolphins in a season that has been decimated by injuries. The Dolphins have lost Chase Allen, Jake Brendel, Luke Falk, MarQueis Gray, William Hayes, Daniel Kilgore, Josh Sitton, Vincent Taylor, and Albert Wilson to season ending injuries.

The season is only half-way through.

In addition to those lost for the year, Ryan Tannehill and Charles Harris has missed significant time while Cameron Wake and DeVante Parker have both missed multiple games. Kenny Stills is also a question this week after missing last weeks game with a groin pull.

What is causing the rash of injuries is unknown, maybe it’s conditioning or someone on the training staff not doing a better job or maybe it’s simply freak accidents that are taking their toll. Regardless the Dolphins need to look at what is going on as this is becoming a common trend from year to year.
