For the second week in a row Miami Dolphins Adam Gase’s aptitude comes into question. This time following a win.

The head football coach of any team needs to be aware, needs to be present and needs to be accountable for his entire team. Just because Adam Gase is the offensive coordinator for the franchise and the head coach, doesn’t mean he should have a blind eye towards the defense and or the special teams units. A great coach has his thumb on every aspect of his football team.

I could not believe that arguable the best safety in the league Reshad Jones withdraws himself from an important divisional game in the first half and the head coach says he doesn’t know what happened. A short time later Adam Gase is seen sitting on an empty bench by himself looking through photos and his play sheets trying to figure out adjustments for the offense, meanwhile his talented safety is not in the game and is not coming back on the football field, and he has no time to talk with any other coaches or players as to why.

Adam Gase needs to be all over issues like this before and during, especially during a game. Adam Gase surely knew that this was going on because Reshad Jones was seen beside Shawn Jefferson throughout the second half, who is the assistant head coach/offense and should be fairly engaged in with Adam Gase throughout the game. Does this coaching staff not speak to each other during a game or at halftime, I mean come on.

The bizarre relationships or lack thereof, that this coaching staff has with their players is crazy weird. I mean I would think after three years you would have weeded out all problems by now. But the bigger issue is that at any moment its like the team has mini implosions that lead to some huge distracting event (trade, cuts, people taking themselves out of a game, ect….).

It now has come to light that there is some communication issues between defensive coordinator Matt Burke and his players. Head coach Adam Gase was asked these questions today in a press conference.

"(With Defensive Coordinator Matt Burke and his communication with his players, are you comfortable with where that is?) – “I’ll have more of an idea here throughout the day and tomorrow and I’ll figure out a lot of the things that happened throughout the week or towards the end of the week or on game day. Today is more of a … You’re going through the film and you’re trying to make sure that you talk to a lot of guys. I have to get some things cleaned up as far as how we go about things and that’s what today is going to be mostly about. It’s hard to do it all in five hours.”"

Adam Gase was asked if he saw Reshad Jones display poor attitude during practices on Wednesday, Thursday or Friday.

"“No. I did not. I did not know he was unhappy about anything. That’s why … But a lot of things got cleaned up last night.”"

I hope that head coach Adam Gase can get a better pulse for his entire team, including the coaching staff as they head into the second half of the season. Hopefully the internal issues between players and the assistant coaches has been nipped in the butt, so the Miami Dolphins don’t go about losing anymore talent. Something this thin roster can definitely not afford to do.

I hate it for the team as a whole that coming off a big victory, a divisional victory, and all you hear about is why one of your best players has pulled himself from the game. It’s not how I want to enjoy victory Monday, and not what this team needs to be discussing on their Monday!
