While the Miami Dolphins lost handily to the Green Bay Packers on Sunday, Frank Gore stood out among his teammates and is the player of the game.

The Miami Dolphins lost in Green Bay by a score of 31-12 moving to 5-5 on the season. Miami looked like they might be able to compete with the high-powered Packers offense early on, specifically because Frank Gore dominated on the ground earning him player of the game honors.

Frank Gore has been outstanding since joining the Dolphins this offseason. He was brought in to provide a change of pace out of the backfield working with Kenyan Drake to establish a dynamic running game. As the season progressed, Gore proved to be the more effective runner and has been getting the majority of the carries in the running game. He has not disappointed.

Even though the Miami Dolphins offense struggled to score on offense, Gore did his fair share, moving the ball at ease when Miami ran the ball. Gore finished the day going for 90 yards on 13 carries and added 12 yards through the air on 2 catches. He also moved over 500 yards on the season, which he has done for 14 consecutive seasons.

The 35 year-olds big play potential is still there, too, as evident by his 39 yard run on Miami’s first drive of the game. Working behind a patchwork offensive line made Gore’s job even more complicated today, yet he still was able to make the most out of what he had.

He has been more than deserving of taking the fair share of carries from Drake as he always seems to gain positive yards. Even when the team struggles on the offensive side of the ball, Gore can consistently pick up 3 to 4 yards on every run, which has been crucial since most of the team has been struggling to get anything going offensively.

It’s unfortunate that the rest of the offense can’t seem to keep up with the 35 year-old who is outrunning everyone on the field. Regardless of how the rest of the team played, Gore is still deserving of recognition for his play in Green Bay.
