Daniel Kilgore – Center – Out for the season: Torn triceps

Kilgore was supposed to be serviceable and reliable replacement for center Mike Pouncey. Instead the Dolphins got about three weeks worth of work before a torn triceps ended his season.

Kilogore’s injury came in week four against the New England Patriots and adding insult to injury it occurred early in the game meaning the Dolphins had to shake up their offensive line before they even got started against a big division rival.

In Kilgore’s absence it has been hit or miss. Travis Swanson has been taking over the center duties with Kilgore gone but he hasn’t been very good or rather consistent. Swanson has had several errant snaps and last week had a crucial over the head shotgun snap to Brock Osweiler that led to a Green Bay recovery. The Dolphins were in the red-zone at the time and the Packers would score their first touchdown on the ensuing drive.

Overall losing Kilgore was simply one more in a long list of offensive line issues that have included Ja’Wuan James and Laremy Tunsil both missing games and time. Against Cincinnati the Dolphins lost both late in the game and gave up a 17 point lead to lose.
