Jerome Baker – Linebacker

The Dolphins rookie linebacker is playing very good football this year and having been drafted in the third round, the Dolphins seem to have hit on the selection. This is not to say that Baker doesn’t have his moments of inconsistency or that he doesn’t need to improve. He does. There are gaps in his game but those come with learning at the next level.

It is easy to say that he is outperforming last years second round pick Raekwon McMillan. The two played together at Ohio State University. Baker has been starting since day one and has 36 solo tackles, two for losses, and 15 assists. He has added two sacks, two passes defended, and one interception that he ran back for a touchdown.

Baker has a lot of growth potential and each week he seems to make the right moves in the right direction and if he can clean up his game against the run he will grow a lot faster. The Dolphins drafted a solid prospect and it is nice to see a rookie starting on the field and playing well.
