Kiko Alonso – LB

Alonso very well may be one of the top five players on the Miami Dolphins at this point in the season. Last year Alonso struggled in almost every aspect of his game and while he still needs to do better in pass coverage he is starting to make solid progress as evidenced by his three interceptions in 2018.

Alonso has combined for 89 tackles so far this season which is good enough to place him in the top five of the league. His vision has improved over last year as well and he has been able to stay healthy. Knock on wood.

In addition to the three INT’s, Kiko Alonso has three forced fumbles and one recovery but has yet to register a sack. He has been impressive with his lateral movements up and down the line of scrimmage in pursuit.

Dolphins fans believed that what we saw last year from Alonso was what we would get this year but so far through 10 games, Alonso has been a nice surprise that continues to get better and he is becoming a quiet leader on the defensive side of the ball.
