This week our friends over at TheFishTank podcast were joined by former Miami Dolphins Keith Byars as they talked about his time with Miami and Philadelphia.

Over on the Five Reasons Network, TheFishTank, a great podcast brought to us all by Jason Taylor Foundation CEO Seth Levit and former Dolphins great, receiver O.J. McDuffie sat down with Keith Byars.

It’s fitting that Byars would be this weeks guest on TheFishTank, in 1993, Byars ran 77 yards for a touchdown on Thanksgiving in a snow filled game against the Dallas Cowboys in Dallas.

Byars played 13 seasons in the NFL mostly with the Philadelphia Eagles and the Miami Dolphins. He spent his first seven seasons with the Eagles before joining the Dolphins in 1993 where he spent three full seasons and four games before finishing his career with the Patriots and Jets.

Byars made his only Pro-Bowl appearance in 1993 in his first season with the Dolphins. He finished his Miami career with 98 rushes for 377 yards and was one of the last fullbacks that Miami used consistently. He scored six touchdowns from the fullback position.

On the latest podcast Byars doesn’t bother to talk much about stats though but instead shares his stories from his time in the NFL and even some about his college years as well.

TheFishTank is a different kind of podcast. Instead of breaking down games they share the stories that no one has ever heard outside of the circles of players and coaches. Previous guests on the show have been Channing Crowder, Marty Booker, Orande Gadsden, and newly anointed top 25 Hall of Fame semi-finalist Zach Thomas.

The guys can be followed on Twitter at TheFishTank. All of their podcasts are available on iTunes and you can also listen on Podbean.

We will keep you updated on all of the new podcasts as they become available but again, make sure you “Dive In” to TheFishTank and get the stories that you won’t hear in the media. They are the stories that can only be told after they have left the league.
