10 Miami Dolphins players that will determine the teams future
By Brian Miller
Jerome Baker – LB – 21 years old
Another rookie having a very solid season is Jerome Baker. Baker has a lot of growing to do but he is getting better as the game begins to slow down. There is little question that he can play at this level and once he gets more acclimated to the speed and looks from opposing offenses, he will grow.
Miami should see a lot of growth from 2018 to 2019 from Baker. If they do they will have a key linebacker that is young and productive. The Dolphins have struggled at the position for years and they may finally have two linebackers for the future and we will get to the other one next.
As for Baker it is refreshing to see a player stepping up and taking control of his position and putting the work in off the field to get better. The fact that Baker is only 21 years old is impressive. He made a case early in training camp to be the starter and he hasn’t disappointed through 10 games so far.
While there is still some growth ahead of him and some consistency errors there is no reason to believe that Baker can’t become a cornerstone piece at linebacker on defense.
