Ja’Wuan James – RT – 26 years old

James is one of the Dolphins best offensive lineman and is still maturing at the position but there is a problem with James. He is a free agent after this season. James banked on himself in 2018’s off-season turning down a reported contract extension to play on his 5th year option. Despite a couple of bang-ups along the way, James has played very well and consistent.

The Dolphins would be smart to re-sign James this off-season to keep the bookends on the offensive line in place. He is a smart player with a lot of upside and does well in pass protection. He needs to be more consistent but some of that can be attributed to poor play at the right guard position.

With so many other needs on the team, James is a player that Miami can get under contract and keep right tackle from becoming a big need in 2019. At 26 years old James should have plenty of years left at a high-level of play but he needs to work on his conditioning so that the small injuries don’t keep popping up.
