Miami Dolphins vs. Jacksonville Jaguars

The I-95 in-state rival game will take place a week before the end of the season and what many had thought would be a playoff type battle now becomes a game that outside of Miami and Jacksonville anyone cares about.

This was supposed to be the Jaguars year to knock off the Patriots but it has been instead a nightmare of the season. At the time of this writing the Jaguars had fired their offensive coordinator and opted to switch from Blake Bortles to Cody Kessler at quarterback.

By the time this game rolls around a QB switch could have happened again but the Jaguars are going to try to take advantage of the weak defensive line and pound the ball with Leonard Fournette. If they can succeed in doing so they will be in a good position to win the game late. The Jaguars don’t have a lot of talent around the offense after early injuries and free agency gutted their receiving group. But defensively they have the talent to be the best in the NFL.

The key is “talent”. For whatever reason the Jaguars have not come close to fulfilling the expectations on defense this year after ranking so high last season. They will need their defense to step up and keep Miami from playing a field position game.

Prediction: Miami Dolphins 24 – Jaguars 20
