The Miami Dolphins better have put that miracle victory from last Sunday out of their minds because the Vikings are not going to roll over.
This weekend the Miami Dolphins will continue their push towards a playoff spot when they travel to face the Minnesota Vikings. The Vikings are clinging to the sixth playoff seed in the NFC while the Dolphins are one game out of the sixth in the AFC. This weekends loser will more than likely miss the post-season.
The Dolphins however will be facing a Vikings team that has a new offensive coorsinator after firing John DeFillippo after last Monday nights miserable showing against the Seahawks. Now they will look to turn around a season that is starting to spiral downwards and the Dolphins are going to have their hands full.
The Vikings are not playing good offensive football right now but the talent is incredible at the wide-receiver position. Adam Thielen is one of the best receivers in the NFL and already has over 100 receptions on the season while Stefon Diggs is one of the best pure receivers as well. Add to the mix tight-end Kyle Rudolph and the Dolphins are going to be busy on Sunday.
It is unclear if the Dolphins will have back Xavien Howard or not for Sunday’s game but regardless the key will be putting pressure on quarterback Kirk Cousins as often as possible to keep his rhythm off. When pressured Cousins tends to make mistakes and Miami has been very good at forcing turnovers this year.
Miami has to find a way to keep the receivers from running all over the field and pressure will do that forcing the Vikings to rely more on the running game. It is going to be a very good test for a Dolphins team coming off a late game heroic victory but they can’t rely on magic happening twice.
