The Miami Dolphins post-season run is officially over after the team simply decided not to show up at home against the Jaguars.

In what has to be one of the most boring games in Miami Dolphins history, the Dolphins have made sure that their 2018 season will officially end next weekend in Buffalo.

Entering today the Dolphins needed some help to make the post-season but one thing they absolutely controlled was how well they played against the Jaguars. The Jaguars entered today 4-10 but will leave it with a 5-10 record after beating Miami 17-7.

The Dolphins scored on their opening drive and the Jaguars responded with a touchdown of their own. Then both teams simply pitched tents and went to sleep until the referee’s woke them up in the fourth quarter. Or at least the Jaguars.

Ryan Tannehill tossed a pick-6 after the Jaguars took a 10-7 lead on a field goal in the fourth quarter and that pretty much put the game away and the season for the Dolphins. In the owners box, Stephen Ross was shown with his head tilted and his hand to his chin while Dan Marino shook his head. To his left sat Mike Tannenbaum who may not be around next year.

If Stephen Ross wanted a reason to blow this team up in the off-season he shouldn’t need a reason anymore. The Dolphins were lifeless on offense and when the defense was on the field, head coach Adam Gase sat alone working on his play sheet seemingly oblivious to what was going on, on the field.

For the Dolphins it was an embarrassing outing that has fans complaining about the effort being given. Many calling for changes ahead of next weeks game against the Bills. If the Dolphins stay the course after this season and retain their head coach and front office, a lot of fans will be dissapointed.

Overall this game really encapsulated the Dolphins season where a lack of consistency, pre-snap penalties, and a general lack of game planning, put the team in a bad position to win. Even with the playoffs on the line.
