Mike Tannenbaum

Ross and Tannenbaum are more than just owner and Veep of ops, they are friends and as such that could go two ways. Firing him may be more difficult because Ross listens to Tannenbaum closely and relies on him to run the team while he is doing his other work. This is problematic because of all the changes needing to be made, Tannenbaum probably should be the first.

Tannebaum has a hand in talent evaluations, draft selections and scouting, as well as contracts and extensions. Over the last several years the Dolphins have handed out quite a few bad contracts and made some extensions that probably shouldn’t have been made. For example, guaranteeing Koa Misi’s final year of his contract despite not knowing if he would be able to return to play. Or the T.J. McDonald contract that was extended before he ever played a regular season game for the Dolphins.

Tannenbaum is part of another trifecta of power within the Dolphins organization and the Dolphins need to dwindle that to a two or even better one person decision-making system.

Will he leave?

My guess would be no, not this year but that could ultimately be determined by the last person in these slides so keep going.

I would put this around 40/60 of him staying.
