John and Jim Harbaugh

There can’t be a coaching search article without at least a mention of the two Harbaugh brothers. John is still in the playoffs with the Ravens while Jim has denied interest in returning to the NFL at this point. They are brought up for one reason only and that is the admiration that Stephen Ross has for both of them.

Ross would love to have one of the Harbaugh’s coaching his team and while Jim has said he will remain at Michigan, there are teams that may try to attempt to bring him back. The New York Jets were rumored to be interested in making a run.

It is hard to imagine that if Jim Harbaugh decided to come back to the NFL that Ross wouldn’t do whatever he could to make that next stop Miami but Ross isn’t going to go after him so long as he is at Michigan and still wanting to stay there.

As for John, it’s a different storyline. The Ravens have said that they will retain Harbaugh through 2019 and will work on an extension but there are still those in the NFL that believe the Ravens would trade Harbaugh if the compensation is good for them.

The Dolphins won’t talk to the Ravens about such a trade as long as the Ravens are alive in the playoffs but things could get a bit more interesting if the Ravens take an early exit in round one.
