Adam Gase was fired this week after three seasons and a 23-25 record overall. After another disappointing season with the Miami Dolphins Stephen Ross decided it was better to move on from the coach.

Personally I feel like this decision came too early. Gase had a 10-6 record, made the playoffs, and helped Ryan Tannehill have his best year in the league his first year. The last two seasons Gase was without his starting quarterback in 2017 and had a plethora of injuries this year including Tannehill for a number of weeks.

In my opinion I would have given Gase one more year. Let’s not forget before all the injuries this Dolphins team was looking really good at 3-0. After that week everything went down hill from there.

Moving Chris Grier to Mike Tannenbaum’s position however was the right move. Far too long Tannenbaum has been in a football decisions position and it was for the best to demote Tannenbaum. After years and years of being average this was definitely the right move. Also due to the incompetency of getting good draft picks something had to change.

One good option for Miami might be former Green Bay Packers coach Mike McCarthy. McCarthy who was fired by Green Bay this year after losing to the Arizona Cardinals missed the playoffs his final two seasons. However, McCarthy did win a Super Bowl with Aaron Rogers in 2010 and could be a good coach to bring on to this struggling Miami Dolphins team.

With a 125-77-2 record over 13 seasons with Green Bay Coach McCarthy is probably the most coveted coach for the teams that are without a head coach. The Dolphins would be wise to at least attempt getting him in the building for an interview.

McCarthy also made the playoffs 9 times with a 10-8 record. McCarthy also brings something coveted by every NFL team: experience at winning and winning often in the playoffs.

While there are other options, right now McCarthy’s probably the best candidate for the position. Bring him in and see if he can fix this struggling Miami Dolphins team.
