Miami Dolphins 19 best players of the 2018 season
By Nick Belotto
With the Dolphins looking forward to what 2019 may bring, it’s time to look at the top players of the 2018 season.
Miami’s season ended with a few devastating losses and a fired head coach leading to what could be a very interesting 2019. In honor of the new year, let’s take some time to look at the top 19 players of the 2018 season. These rankings will be based on statistics, game impact and overall thoughts on how players performed outside of their numbers.
Honorable Mentions
Vincent Taylor
Taylor looked to be having a pretty good season before it was derailed with a season ending foot injury. Taylor looked to be growing on a surprising first season and was primed and ready to keep growing and become an even more disruptive force on the defensive line. The good thing is that he is still young and growing so if he can fully recover, he should be able to grow even more in his third season.
Ryan Tannehill
Tannehill was difficult to rank. If this was done in the beginning of the season, it would be no doubt that Tannehill would be in the top 10 if not the top 5. Unfortunately, 4 great weeks don’t make a season and therefore I kept him off of the top 19.
In the early weeks of the season, Tannehill played great leading a decent offense to a 3-0 record. From that point on, however, his season was bogged down with injuries and poor play that ultimately crippled the offense.
Tannehill’s time in Miami is likely coming to a close as his performance this season left a lot to be desired and thus, kept him off of my list.
