The Miami Dolphins are rumored to want and need a quarterback what does that mean for Ryan Tannehill?

The Miami Dolphins need to do whatever is necessary to get Ryan Tannehill off the payroll. Tannehill has had the last seven years to collect paychecks from this organization and has not produced the results expected for the amount of money he was paid.

Now a looming payday is approaching  and Ryan Tannehill would be owed $18,725,000, with a pro rated bonus of $2,300,000 and a work out bonus of $25,000. Those were the 2019 numbers as part of his last restructured contract.

I know Ryan Tannehill would never see those numbers should new boss man Chris Grier opt to keep Ryan Tannehill on the roster for the next season. The entire fan base, myself included, would be shocked if Ryan Tannehill remains on the roster or worse yet remains the starting QB next season. I would think Chris Grier is diligently trying to find a trade suitor for this aging QB.

At this point, the money saved from dealing Tannehill would outweigh anything that is offered for this QB. What I’m saying is you gotta take anything for him, anything and just get him out-of-town. I do not hate Ryan Tannehill and wish him the best of luck in his future endeavors, but he needs to be moved immediately.

The bigger problem with this scenario is would there even be anyone out there in the NFL world that would be willing to give up anything for this mediocre QB. Time will tell I guess and all we can do is keep our fingers crossed.

The money saved will be needed to hire a veteran QB to help gap the time needed to prepare either a rookie in this draft and or in the next draft.  You definitely are not going to get proper tutelage from Ryan Tannehill. He can’t read defenses, can’t go through reads fast enough and crumbles in pressure situations, so what would be the advantage for him staying with the team and having him groom a replacement?

I can think of several replacements that would be cheaper and better suited for both the team and the young gun that is drafted. It’s been reported that Ryan Tannehill said he wants to remain with Miami Dolphins and finish his career with them, but I believe that would be a major setback and a waste of a roster spot.

Ryan Tannehill has proven he simple just does not possess the skill set to be a starter and never helped any of the younger quarterbacks under him progress. The backups all stayed the same as when they got to the organization. Now, I understand a lot of that falls on the coaching staff, but some of it falls on Ryan Tannehill, as he brought nothing to the meeting room for the young guys and showed nothing on the field that would teach a lesson or two.

So my suggestion to the new VP Chris Grier would be, ship Ryan Tannehill out as soon as possible and work on the situation he leaves in his wake. The head coach is a leader, go get one, the assistants are leaders, go get them and the quarterback should be a leader, so go get one of those too. Stop wasting time with anything you think Ryan Tannehill might be able to help you with, because as time has shown, he will let you down.
