The Miami Dolphins have been removed from former head coach Adam Gase a week now and have interviewed four for the job.

After a week the Miami Dolphins are not close to naming a replacement for Adam Gase who was fired a week ago Monday. Interviews have been completed but where exactly are the Dolphins in this process? Well they are not at the start and they are not at the end.

Mike Munchak: The Dolphins requested to interview Munchak but he declined.

Kris Richard: Interviewed and is expected to have a 2nd interview

Darren Rizzi: Has not interviewed yet.

Eric Bieniemy: Interviewed no rumors about 2nd interview.

Dennis Allen: Interviewed no rumors of a 2nd interview.

Mike McCarthy: No interest shown by Miami or McCarthy

Brian Flores: Interviewed, conflicting rumors of a potential second interview.

Vic Fangio: Dolphins received permission to interview him but opted to not schedule an interview.

John Harbaugh: Despite potential trade rumors the Ravens are working on an extension for Harbaugh.

The Dolphins have concluded their first round of interviews as noted above. Unlike in years past it was reported that the sometimes eight hour sessions only took two hours at most this time around. Some of the candidates were less.

On Monday it was rumored that Kris Richards was the top candidate but that has swung towards Flores depending on who you follow and choose to believe. There are some who still believe that Rizzi will be the top choice eventually but there are still others who believe a trade could still be reached for Harbaugh.

There is no certainty about the next Dolphins head coach or for that matter anything that will happen with the Dolphins this off-season. Chris Grier is running the show now and that includes finding the head coach.

Richard, Bieniemy, and Flores are all still in the post-season with the respective teams so the Dolphins will have to wait until after next weekends games to speak to any of those three a second time.

In other NFL head coaching searches the Packers have agreed to terms with Matt LaFleur who was the Tennessee Titans OC. The Cardinals and Bruce Arians are close to a deal. Former Dolphins Adam Gase has emerged as a top candidate for the New York Jets job. Mike Munchak appears to be the front runner for the Denver Broncos job.
