The Miami Dolphins will try and rebuild their team this off-season and while no one is actually calling it a rebuild, it will be.

When the Miami Dolphins fired head coach Adam Gase owner Stephen Ross sat in front of a microphone and was asked why Gase was fired. Ross simply said, “because he wanted to win (now)”. That is pretty much the sign of a man ready to rebuild his roster.

That rebuild is expected to include a quarterback where Ryan Tannehill is likely to be traded or released. No one at this point expects Tannehill back in 2019 and while stranger things have happened, the Dolphins 2019 starter is on the roster.

Dolphins fans want Dwayne Haskins or Kyler Murray or perhaps Drew Lock but a rumor earlier this week said that the Dolphins were actually targeting interior offensive and defensive lineman with the quarterback in play for 2020. I agree with this.

Miami would however still need a QB and fans and media alike wonder out loud thow that QB might be. Nick Foles? Not likely he won’t want to go to a rebuilding team. Joe Flacco? Maybe but he won’t be cheap and his skill set has diminished. Perhaps Tyrod Taylor who has been bouncing around the leagues worse teams as of late. Or maybe the Dolphins should just stick to what they have.

Take your pick if you will. David Fales or Luke Falk. Miami under Adam Gase signed Falk after he was released last year so Adam Gase saw something in him. Why not let the kid play and see what he has. The Dolphins also kept David Fales around as well despite having Tannehill and Brock Osweiler.

In 2017 at season’s end Fales looked good in late season work and if the Dolphins are going to rebuild why not give these two a chance to show they have what it takes to play at this level. IF they do, you might get lucky enough to solve your QB problem. If they are not, you might get lucky enough to draft high in the 2020 draft.

Neither of the two will sell tickets at the gate but if the reported gutting of the roster that many believe will happen after the season ends does indeed happen, it won’t matter who the quarterback is.

Miami shouldn’t explore the free agency market and they shouldn’t look in the draft, at least not in the first two rounds. They need to stay home and let it all ride on the two QB’s with little experience. By doing so, they will gain experience, and maybe the Dolphins get lucky for a change.
