The Miami Dolphins will know when they will be able to announce Brian Flores as their next head coach when tonight’s AFC Championship game is over.

Tonight the Miami Dolphins will watch the Chiefs and Patriots battle for the right to represent the AFC in the Super Bowl but the side to this is if the Patriots lose, the Dolphins can officially announce and present their next head coach.

There are no other candidates remaining as all in the media believe that Brian Flores will be the Dolphins next head coach. They can’t make anything official just yet. Miami will conduct a second interview with Flores next week should the Patriots advance to the Super Bowl. Miami can officially offer the job to Flores in that week and Flores can take the job.

Miami can not however hold a press conference until after the Super Bowl. A loss tonight however by the Patriots could put Flores in the Dolphins aqua and orange as early as Monday or Tuesday.

The Dolphins will likely act quickly in the event of a Patriots loss to allow Flores the opportunity to get started on assembling his coaching staff. Once the staff is in place he will need to start working with general manager Chris Grier on roster evaluations.

The Dolphins have a lot of work to do and have started none of that process as they wait for Flores. Flores however will not have control over the roster but will give him input. The Dolphins are expected to rebuild most of the roster in 2019 as they try to fix what has been ailing the team for more than a decade.

For the record, I think they will be waiting another two weeks. Patriots 45 – Chiefs 28 is my prediction.
