Nobody cares about the NFL Pro Bowl anymore it should go away

The NFL Pro Bowl will parade a bunch of players out onto the football field in Orlando, Fl. today for the annual Pro-Bowl. They should end it.
Today the NFL will showcase its top talent in the annual Pro Bowl game. Well not really the top talent. In many cases players that actually get voted in decline to participate for various reasons and after they decline the next guy in line is invited to play. When he declines the next one is invited.
Take Jarvis Landry who will represent the Browns this year despite his mundane and average numbers that were considerably down from the numbers he had with the Dolphins. Maybe there should be a “replacement” tag associated with any players name that was not actually voted into the Pro Bowl.
Eventually the game will be played by undrafted rookies who maybe played three plays in a season. Players do not want to risk injury or their futures for the most meaningless game in the entire world of professional sports. Then again, maybe having an all undrafted rookie game might be more fun.
The NFL could also use the game to promote new rule changes that will be coming to the league in the future. Like the two hand touch of the quarterbacks numbers instead of actually hitting the QB or tackling him anymore. Of course they will need to put pressure tips on the defenders gloves. If the touch pressure on the QB exceeds a pre-set amount of pressure it will be a penalty.
For the Miami Dolphins Xavien Howard will make his first trip to the game. He was voted in as a starter. After being sidelined in the final weeks of the 2018 season with a knee injury, Howard probably should have stayed away from the game and stayed at home. Or better yet he could have booked a flight to Hawaii where the Pro Bowl used to be played. As much as I like Orlando, it’s not really the same.
With Howard on the field fans can get their last look at a Miami Dolphins player in uniform for the 2018 season and who knows, if the trade winds start to swirl maybe Howard will play his last game in a Dolphins uniform.
It has been a long time since I wasted a Sunday watching the Pro-Bowl. In fact the last one I watched was way back in, well, maybe Barry Switzer coached the NFC team. I think. It has been a long long time.
At least the powers that be finally resorted back to the AFC vs. NFC format unlike the absurd drafting of “coaches” a couple of years ago. Will you watch the Pro-Bowl? I’m not even sure it should be capitalized anymore but the NFL continues to try to “capitalize” on the money that it brings in and if we are being honest, that is what this game is about correct?
