In a way last nights Super Bowl was about Brian Flores against Sean McVay and Brian Flores walked away from the Patriots with a major win.

Throughout the telecast of the Super Bowl, kudos were given to Bill Belichick’s defensive scheme with little mention during the game of Brian Flores despite the fact that entire game was called by the soon-to-be Miami Dolphins head coach.

Facing the leagues head coach that everyone wishes they had, Flores put a big stamp on his resume with the Patriots and now looks to do the same, eventually, with the Dolphins. After the game, those who were there had some things to say about the Dolphins new head coach.

Still on the field Flores posed for pictures with his two sons and made a point that the post-game was family time.

He was seen walking back to his hotel instead of taking the team bus and instead of taking a car. When asked, Flores said he wanted to walk with his family and the fans and soak it all in.

Hal Habib of the Miami Herald saw him after the game and said, “See you tomorrow”. An indication that he expected to see Flores in Miami as the Dolphins next head coach. Flores, Habib said, simple “smiled”.

Today Miami Dolphins CEO Tom Garfinkel received a tweet saying that they should just get Flores on a plane to Miami before the Bengals figure out they screwed up. Garfinkel responded with a tweet of his own saying, “On the plane with him now”. Another report late last night had Flores’ agent already in Miami working on the contract details.

Flores will be announced as the Dolphins 13th head coach in team history at a press conference today at 4:00 p.m. He is assembling his staff and will get to work with Chris Grier on the Dolphins makeover.

Expectations are not high for the Dolphins in 2019 as they rebuild the team to fit the style that Flores wants to bring to Miami. This will include a change at quarterback through the draft either in April or in 2020.

One thing is for certain, when Flores was named the top target for the Dolphins a month ago, many fans were not thrilled with the idea but that has changed considerably over the last month.
