The three core values that Brian Flores expects from this team

Team

Flores has made it clear that he wants players and coaches that put the team first and foremost above all else but family. It is a tough way for a coach to find players that fit that mold. In this era of the NFL players want to be paid and when they get paid and their careers are heading towards the end they chase the ring and join the Patriots. I’m half kidding.

The task for Flores is to find the coaching staff that shares that vision of leadership and dedication and it is the job of Chris Grier to find the players that have the professional passion and drive to put team above the big payday.

In New England the Patriots have found success for more than a decade with players that are paid well but are not paid as elite. Tom Brady puts the team first and takes far less money than most other starting quarterbacks. Their success can be traced to spending on three really good players rather than one great one. That is something that Grier spoke about as well.

Miami may want to find that but those players are difficult to find and even when you think you have found one young and eager to win, success as a team and individually can change over time. This is where the challenge for the Dolphins will be if they find success. Sustaining it, but they have to find those “team” players first.
