Pick #6 New York Giants

QB Dwayne Haskins, Ohio State

Last year the Giants mistakenly thought that QB Eli Manning had 2-3 good years remaining when they bypassed picking a QB at #2.  They were obviously wrong.  Haskins (58 career TDs vs 9 INTS) is the safest QB in this draft and becomes the newest member of “Big Blue”.

Pick #7 Jacksonville Jaguars

OL Jonah Williams, Alabama

This selection is based on the premise that the Jags find their 2019 QB via trade/free agency.  Williams is a massive tackle that can help protect the passer and in the run game.

Pick #8 Detroit Lions

CB Deondre Baker, Georgia

The Lions could consider Kyler Murray here but, as of now, QB Matthew Stafford is still on the roster.  Instead, the Lions select the instinctive cornerback (7 career INTS) out of Georgia to help with their anemic secondary.

Pick #9 Buffalo Bills

OL Jawaan Taylor, Florida

Taking the top WR here was very tempting but the Bills have invested resources into QB Josh Allen and need to protect him.  Taylor will ‘plug and play’ at right tackle on the next level.

Pick #10 Denver Broncos

LB Devin White, LSU

GM John Elway almost pulled the trigger on QB Kyler Murray but their lack of success selecting quarterbacks in the first round convinced Elway to take White; who will ‘quarterback’ the defense and make plays all over the field (123 total tackles last season).
