Danny Amendola – $6 million

Another Miami Dolphins receiver who could be released. Amendola as seen above is set to make $6 million in 2019. He was a valued veteran leader in the locker room and on the field but his production didn’t match the price tag.

The biggest question about Amendola however is the fact that he is a former player for Chad O’Shea who is running the Dolphins offense now. It would be much easier to transition to a new system that is similar to that of the Patriots with a veteran of that operating offense.

Amendola however does have a history of concussions and minor injuries. He was healthy last year which will help the evaluation but will the Dolphins value his $6 million coming off the cap enabling them to sign other free agents for other holes on the roster?

If Amendola does leave the Dolphins are not in a bad position given the slot role of Amendola. Jakeem Grant and Albert Wilson both can play that role if necessary and the Dolphins could also turn to some of their younger receivers they have been trying to develop.
