Daniel Kilgore – $2.4 million

Kilgore spent almost the entire season on IR and when he was in the lineup he wasn’t great. Of course he didn’t really get time to acclimate much to the offense. Kilgore is scheduled to make $2.4 million in 2019 which is really low for a starting center.

The Dolphins have to weigh whether or not he is worth that money compared to others on the market and in the draft. It is likely that they will retain him this year. Kilgore signed an extension with the 49’ers prior to last season but afterwards the 49’ers traded for another center and then sent Kilgore to Miami via trade as well.

The Dolphins felt that Kilgore would be able to replace an oft injured Mike Pouncey but that wasn’t the case at all. In fact, Pouncey turned in a very good year playing all season for the Los Angeles Chargers. Now the Dolphins are wondering who will start at center this season for them.

Moving on from Kilgore is not a big issue given his time in Miami but his money will only go towards paying his replacement who will likely get more. Miami may want to let this season play out with him at center and then look in 2020 for a long-term solution at the position.
