Miami Dolphins rumors and speculations update as Combine rolls on
By Brian Miller
The NFL Combine is underway and there are plenty of Miami Dolphins rumors and even more speculation running around Indianapolis.
Over the last several weeks the Miami Dolphins have been mentioned in trade scenarios and free agent signings. Rounding them all up isn’t easy as the initiators of the speculation hit and run on to something else shortly after posting it. Some sources are reliable and some are not but that still makes it kind of fun.
Here are some of the latest.
Antonio Brown – despite the Dolphins being in a rebuild, several in the national media still believe that the Dolphins are a potential landing spot for the elite wide-receiver. This also despite the fact that Miami is trying to change the locker room environment.
Robert Quinn – According to Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald, the Dolphins will “assuredly” release the defensive end prior to the start of free agency and save the $12 million cap money.
Andre Branch – see above with the exception of cap. Branch would save $9 million
Ryan Tannehill – Will he be traded or released? There is plenty of speculation from various sources and internet social media people who believe he could end up in Washington or with Cincinnati via trade. Others believe that he will be designated a post-June 1st release.
Matt Stafford – Around The NFL’s panel of “experts” are predicting the Dolphins will trade with the Lions for Matt Stafford. It’s not the first time Miami has been linked to Stafford. Some believed that would happen last year.
Kyler Murray – Murray is still the popular pick for the Dolphins at 13 however it seems the draft guru’s now believe Miami will try to trade up for the Heisman winning QB.
Josh Sitton – A recent report that cites Josh Sitton himself says that the offensive guard is expecting his release ahead of free agency. It has been a topic of speculation dating back to last season.
DeVante Parker – It seems as though plenty of teams will be in the market for Parker if and when he hits free agency. The popular thought out of Miami is that he will definitely be released.
Armando Salguero – Salguero continues to report that he is being told that the Dolphins will build, “think from the inside out”. This would equal the process of starting with offensive and defensive lines first but he doesn’t specify if that is the draft or free agency.
