Kyler Murray Murray was a popular mock pick for the Miami Dolphins up until about a day ago. Now he appears on the verge of becoming the top pick in the draft, to the Cardinals no less. Murray is almost assuredly not going to be drafted by the Dolphins unless the entire hype machine is just hype.

Drew Lock – Some believe that Lock will be off the board when the Broncos select and others have concerns over his accuracy issues. With the right coaching could that be coached out? Hard to say but it is hard to see the Dolphins drafting a quarterback in round one this year with the intention of starting them all season.

Dwayne Haskins – Like Murray, Haskins isn’t expected to drop to the Dolphins at 13 and Miami isn’t expected to trade up for him. The reality is that outside of Lock, Haskins, and Murray, there are not solid hit first round talents. The Dolphins may draft a day two or day three quarterback but it seems as though 2020 is the real target to acquire a franchise player at the position.

Josh Rosen – Rosen was drafted last year just ahead of the Dolphins pick. His 2018 year was so-so given the lack of talent on the Cardinals offense and the coaching issues they had. Rosen could be replaced by Kyler Murray this year and if that happens, Rosen could be traded and the Dolphins could be a potential landing spot. Miami would have to give up a draft pick to get him so it remains unlikely.

Overall, as you can see there is no clear favorite to start and one reason that many believe Ryan Tannehill should stick around another year. The Dolphins simply don’t have great options and that leaves the 2019 starting QB spot up in the air.
