The Miami Dolphins are shopping defensive end Robert Quinn and things may be heating up with the Dallas Cowboys.

It was reported yesterday by Armando Salguero of the Miami Herald that Robert Quinn was still on the trade block after the Dolphins picked up his roster bonus of $1 million and change. Now a day later their is a report that Quinn in heading to Dallas to talk to the Cowboys.

According to Tom Pelissero of the NFL Network, Quinn will meet with the Cowboys as the Dolphins discuss a potential trade.

The news is interesting because the Salguero article stated that the Dolphins were looking for what they hope to be a 4th round draft pick. Dallas has two in 2019 but they could also trade him for a 2020 draft pick instead. The Dolphins should be good with either year as both drafts have deep talent at various positions of need.

Miami traded for Quinn only two off-seasons ago and his time in Miami has not bee that great. He has a lot of talent and some believe that it was the Matt Burke sheme or lack there of that was the bigger problem for Quinn and his production.

The Dolphins, again, according to Salguero, are willing to take on part of the $11.7 milliion still due to Quinn in 2019 to faciliate the trade. They took on $5 million of Ryan Tannehill’s contract to move him for a 4th round pick. Whatever money the Dolphins do not pick up will become cap space. Only the money Miami agrees to cover will be dead. If any.
