Albert Wilson

Wilson is a fun receiver to watch and the thought is that he will recover from his injury in time to make the off-season workouts. Avoiding surgery on his hip was a plus but in 2020 Wilson’s contract may push him out of the Dolphins plans.

Wilson will be the 2nd highest paid player on the Dolphins roster in 2020 prior to the start of free agency and not counting any contract extensions for players like Laremy Tunsil or Xavien Howard.

In 2020 Wilson’s cap number will jump from $8 million in 2019 to $10.8 million in 2020. If the Dolphins release him in 2020 they would save $9.5 million in cap space while carrying only $1.3 in dead money.

How well Wilson recovers from his injury of 2018 and how well he fits in with Chad O’Shea’s offense will go a long way towards deciding if his value is at $10 million is worth keeping him around.
